Rajasthan Royals (RR) Stun Gujarat Titans (GT) with a Record-Breaking Chase –
What a Night!
Last night in Jaipur was nothing short of magical! Watching RR chase down a huge target of 210 runs felt like witnessing history unfold. They didn’t just chase it; they crushed it, reaching 212/2 in just 15.5 overs. For me, the standout moment was young Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s unbelievable performance. At just 14 years old, he smashed the second-fastest century in IPL history. It was pure madness! Every shot he played sent chills down my spine, and the entire stadium was buzzing with energy. Seeing Rahul Dravid rise from his wheelchair to applaud Suryavanshi's century was one of the most emotional and unforgettable scenes of the night.
GT had put up a strong total of 209/4, and honestly, I thought it would be a tough chase. But the way RR started — it was like they were playing a completely different game. Right from the powerplay, the attack was brutal. After Buttler dropped Jaiswal early, it was all downhill for GT. Suryavanshi and Jaiswal simply didn’t give them a chance to recover, and I loved how fearless and confident both looked at the crease.
And just when I thought the entertainment was done, Riyan Parag came in and added the final touches. Smashing sixes and fours like it was no big deal, he finished the game with a stunning flat pull shot for six, and there were still 25 balls left! GT looked completely lost, and RR’s Net Run Rate got a massive boost, which is crucial for their playoff chances.
After the match, hearing Shubman Gill admit that they lost control during the powerplay showed just how shaken GT were. He also mentioned sitting out due to a minor back spasm, but I hope he recovers soon because GT needs him badly.
Personally,
I feel this night was all about Vaibhav Suryavanshi. What he did at such a young age is simply mind-blowing. It was a fairy-tale performance that we, as fans, will talk about for years. RR have shown they are true fighters, and after a night like this, I wouldn’t dare count them out of the tournament.
