Lahore Qalandars vs Multan Sultans | Match 16 | PSL 2025 Highlights

In an exciting clash under the lights of Lahore, Lahore Qalandars pulled off a thrilling 5-wicket victory against the Multan Sultans, with six balls to spare. Honestly, in my opinion, this was one of the most entertaining matches of the tournament so far!

First Innings: Batting first, Multan Sultans posted a strong total of 185/3. Their top order looked rock-solid, with some clean hitting and smart running between the wickets. It felt like MS had set a winning score, especially considering the pressure of a night chase at Gaddafi Stadium. However, I personally felt they were about 10–15 runs short, given the flatness of the pitch.

Second Innings: When Lahore Qalandars started their chase, they looked confident but not reckless. The star of the night was undoubtedly Daryl Mitchell, who smashed a brilliant 64 off just 38 balls. His innings kept LQ right on track even when wickets were falling at the other end.

But for me, the real game-changer was Sikandar Raza. In my opinion, his quickfire 40 off 21 balls was exactly what Qalandars needed to maintain the momentum and finish the chase in style. He took on the bowlers fearlessly, hitting two crisp boundaries and four towering sixes, which shifted the pressure completely onto Multan.

Bowling Performance: From Multan’s side, Ubaid Shah showed a lot of promise, picking up 2 wickets for 34 runs. Akif Javed, however, was a bit expensive today, conceding 44 runs in his 4 overs without much control. In my view, Multan's bowlers failed to hold their nerves during the crucial death overs.

The Finish: With just 2 runs needed off the final 12 balls, the match ended comfortably for Lahore, scoring 186/5 in 19 overs. It was a solid team effort by LQ, and in my honest opinion, they showed great composure and smart cricket awareness.

My Final Thoughts: In my opinion, Lahore Qalandars have finally found their rhythm in PSL 2025. Their middle order looks dangerous, and if they continue playing like this, they will be serious contenders for the title. On the other hand, Multan Sultans need to rethink their bowling strategies, especially at the death.
